Thank you for visiting our museum. Listed below is a brief description of some of the exhibits on display. All exhibits are restored and operational.
Medium M3A5 Tank 1944
Made in USA 1944. This tank, commonly known as "Lee" was also used by Australia during war years. It had been used for land clearing in it's later years. The tank weighs approximately 24 ton.
Daimler "Dingo" Scout Car 1943
This vehicle was purchased from England. It is equipped with origonal radio equipment. It is believed to be the only one of it's kind in Australia.
The Desert Chev 1941
Restored to standards of those used by Long Range Desert Group. It was purchased from a property in NSW. It has been shown in a 'Twisties' Ad.
Morris Commercial CS8 1941
This vehicle is a GS Truck 15cwt. It is an early type of infantry truck. Many of these were lost in France and subsequently used by the German Army.
The Chez Blitz Ambulance 1941
Fitted with Indian type body and No.12 Cab used by Australian Forces in the Middle East. This vehicle appeared in the Australian mini series 'My Brother Tom'.
Matchless G36 1943 Motorcycle
There were 425,000 of these produced by the British during the war years. They were supplied to Russian, British and Commonwealth armies. Canada also used them for military duties.
Mechanical Mule
These were used to transport supplies and personnel. Load capacity 1/2 ton. Purchased from Bastow, USA.
Ford 'Jeep' G.P.W 1/4 Ton 1943
These vehicles proved to have excellent off highway capabilities. Were used in all facets of the war. They were made in USA by Ford and Willys. This vehicle appeared in the film 'Death of Soldier'.
Ford F30 4x4 1944 - Made in Canada
These were used mainly to tow in to place guns and limber. Many of these were in service in Australia. They were made as a military pattern vehicle.
The Ford W.O.T. 1942
Several of these vehicles were used by Australian Forces in the Middle East. It is fitted with G.S. Infantry type body. There are only a few of these vehicles in Australia.
White Half Truck
Purchased from Europe, they are not common in Australia. It is believed that these were not used in Australia during the war years.
